Guild Wars Prophecies, is a Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game (CORPG) created by ArenaNet, a subsidiary of the South Korean game publisher NCsoft.
While Guild Wars is considered by many to be an MMORPG, it differs in its approach compared to many of its contemporaries. In particular it provides a number of features which support casual online RPG gameplay; a low level cap, instanced game worlds outside of town areas, instant travel and play without subscription fees. Guild Wars is carefully maintained by the developers to support competitive play in addition to providing an RPG environment and balancing skills and professions. To emphasize these core differences from most MMORPGs the developers have termed the game a Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game (CORPG).

Silkroad Online is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) which was recently in beta testing, but was fully released on 21 February 2006. It was created by the South Korean company Joymax. Much of the background of the game is based on the historical Silk Road.
Overview Silkroad is based on the history of trading in China along the Silk Road, a historical network of trade routes in Southern Asia. The game attempts to reproduce the Silk Road in a much smaller scale, looking realistic and at the same time incorporating fantasy elements as the use of special magical skills and abilities. One of the game's most noted features is allowing players with the option of three different roles after achieving character level 20

Diablo 2 Sequel to the popular Diablo, is an action role-playing game in a hack and slash or "Dungeon Roaming" style. It was released for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS in 2000 by Blizzard Entertainment. Diablo II was developed by Blizzard North.
By April 2001, Diablo II had become one of the most popular online games ever. Major factors that contributed to Diablo II's success include what fans found to be addictive hack and slash gameplay and free access to Battle.net. Diablo II may be played as a single player game, multi-player via a LAN, or multi-player via Battle.net, with the latter being the most popular. It has also become the 9th best selling computer game and number one best selling RPG for the PC, selling over seven million copies.[citation needed]

Tibia is one of the oldest, longest-running graphical online computer role-playing games (MMORPGs). It was developed as early as 1997. To this day, it is continually being improved. CipSoft GmbH, which is based in Regensburg, is Tibia’s developer and operator.
Tibia started as a non-commercial programming experiment by three German computer science students called the 'Gods' named Steve (Stephan Vogler), Durin (Ulrich Schlott) and Stephan (Stephan Börzsönyi). The other current member of the staff; Guido (Guido Lubke) actually started as a normal player and joined the ranks of an Executive Officer in 1999 in which he was the key advertiser for the game. Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle is a fantasy massively multiplayer computer role-playing game (MMORPG) and sequel to Lineage. It has become very popular since its October 1, 2003 launch, reporting 1.5 million subscribers worldwide in September 2004. According to 1st-half 2005 data, Lineage II has approximately 2.25 million subscribers worldwide, the second most popular MMORPG in the world. It falls behind World of Warcraft, which currently has more than 6.5 million active subscriptions and is the largest MMORPG in the world.

MU Online is a 3D medieval fantasy MMORPG utilising the OpenGL API, produced by the Korean company Webzen. The gameplay is very much like the game Diablo II.
Payment
The official Mu servers are free to play with very limited support. For additional support, events and better service there is a requirement to subscribe to the pay server. WebZen recently sold the rights to Mu Global to K2 Network for USD$2,000,000. K2N promises better service, more and faster servers, improved gameplay and an improved community. The servers officially opened on February 17, 2006 and the beta test period ended on April 21st, when the servers were commercially released.

Warcraft is a real-time strategy computer game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment in 1994. Originally developed for DOS, the game was subsequently ported to version 7 of MacOS making it fully playable on the Macintoshes of the era. The real-time strategy genre had been pioneered by Dune 2, among other games, but Warcraft (along with Westwood Studios' Command & Conquer) is widely credited for the genre's rise in popularity. Warcraft and its sequels went on to become one of the most successful franchises in computer gaming history.
The game is set in the kingdom of Azeroth, part of the fictional Warcraft Universe. The events that take place in this game are known in Warcraft lore as The First Great War or The Great War. | |
